For those of us who truly appreciate a particular actor's work, it can be fun to test our knowledge of specific films. Here is what I have conjured up so far on KST's films, with insights shared by Malcolm, Pen, Nairong, Olga, Anna, B.J. and Christopher. I would also like to thank Young-Soo for her hard work on the KSTarama sections of this web site. My intention was to list films in order of release (last first), but Kristin speaks "so many bloody languages" and her films are released in different parts of the world at different times, so it's rather difficult in matters of this kind. Also, the questions are generally in the order in which their references appear in the films, in case you need to refresh your memory. Most of the current questions are decidedly on the naughty side--it's that wicked Katharine Clifton leading us all astray, no doubt. To borrow a line from Bitter Moon, "who wants to be safe?" I believe Madame Olivennes' films teach us all to be brave. In any case, I promise to add more serious questions in the near future. Also, Young-Soo, Min, and I would welcome contributions, particularly from folks in France who may have seen the more elusive films. Is it normal for the work of an actor to contain so many extraordinary cross-references, or is there some strange magic at work for Kristin Scott Thomas? One feels almost like André in My Dinner With as he recounted his St. Exupéry discoveries. . . . In the meantime, have fun with this--Kristin's films are so amusing!
